Centers of Excellent CARE
Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)

The Digestive CARE Inflammatory Bowel Disease Centers of Excellent CARE Program is a regional and national referral center for patients with Inflammatory Bowl Disease (IBD). Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) can be divided into two main types, Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis. Both of these conditions occur by the same autoimmune mechanism, causing inflammation to the gastrointestinal tract. Each type of IBD affects a different part of the gastrointestinal tract and may require a slightly different treatment approach.

The IBD Program is a multi-disciplinary practice with specialists in gastroenterology, radiology, and nutritional support services dedicated to accurately diagnosing and managing IBD and increasing patients’ quality of life. We also place a strong emphasis on educating patients about their illness, engaging patients in management of their disease, detecting and avoiding medication side effects and improving monitoring of symptoms.
