What is Pathology?

Pathology is the study and diagnosis of disease. A pathologist is a medical professional who is a critical link on the patient care team, serving as a consultant to our physicians. There are many specialists in the field of pathology. As a patient, you won’t visit the pathologist, however, your doctor will have the pathologist examine biopsies and body fluids, as wPathologyell as review results of tests ordered and performed in order to make an informed diagnosis.

Role of Pathologists

Pathologists combine a scientist’s understanding of what laboratory evidence suggests and a specialty physician’s knowledge of medicine to determine the correct diagnosis. Our Pathologists are experts in the study of Gastroenterology Pathology dedicated solely to the practice of gastrointestinal and liver pathology. As such, we provide the highest quality GI diagnosis and collaborate directly with your physician to promptly deliver high quality results for our patients.
